In November 2022, KICL inaugurated a non-leather shoe factory at Perambalur with an investment of ₹2,500 crore. The factory was inaugurated by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin within 11 months of its foundation stone being laid. The company has also signed agreements to establish more factories in economically backward districts of Karur and Perambalur, involving an investment of around ₹5,000 crore to create employment opportunities for people in the backward areas.
