Considering this, KICL started their journey in fine dining by creating ‘Una Villa’, its own division, with the concept of ‘Home away from home’.
Far from being just a usual eatery, Una Villa is a restaurant known for its continental and fusion dishes. It is located in Nungambakkam, Chennai. This location was a 60-year-old home that has been beautifully renovated into a dining place. The core intention of Una Villa is to create a comfortable eating environment and produce delectable foods.
In September 2024, KICL opened ‘Una Villa—Traditional’ in Indira Nagar, Adyar, Chennai. It is the most promising restaurant in Chennai, and this opening shows that the restaurant is gaining popularity among people.
The name “Una Villa” reflects KICL’s vision very well. In Tamil, ‘Una’ means ‘food’, and ‘villa’ means ‘home’. Together, Una Villa reflects their commitment to serve delicious food in a homely atmosphere.

Vision of blending tradition with modern dining:

Food traditions are a direct reflection of cultural identity. The food traditions of a community are composed not of just recipes but of the methods and technologies by which foods are grown, gathered, stored, prepared, served, and thrown out. Such traditions include culturally transmitted rules that govern the taste of food. It gives us an identity and makes our taste buds feel the love for food. What differentiates Una Villa Traditional from other restaurants is that staff members wear white dhotis and shirts, which are traditional attires of Tamil Nadu. This shows that Una Villa values its culture and tradition. When customers see the staff in traditional wear, it makes them feel more at home. Una Villa reconnects us to our traditions. KICL started it’s dining journey with the opening of Una Villa in Nungambakkam, Chennai. The restaurant has quickly gained its popularity among locals for its continental and fusion dishes. After the success of Una Villa, KICL opened another restaurant called Una Villa – Traditional in Adyar, Chennai. This restaurant specializes mainly in Chettinadu and multi cuisine flavors. Now, KICL is planning to open a new restaurant in OMR, Chennai. With these developments, KICL plans to continue expanding its reach in Chennai and other cities.
